| Dutch ..... Afbeelding van een specifiek schip, vanaf eind 18de eeuw gemaakt in opdracht van kapitein of rederij, vaak tegen een stereotiepe achtergrond, maar ook wel onder specifieke omstandigheden (storm, schipbreuk) of met topografische aanduidingen. Bij eerdere afbeeldingen van schepen gaat het in het algemeen om een totaalbeeld of uitbeelding van een scheepstype. De term wordt ook gebruikt, als de naam van het schip bekend is en vermeld wordt, ook al wordt niet voldaan aan de criteria. |
