Note: Japanese ritual dolls made of clay or porcelain and dressed in real clothes that are used at the girls' festival, Hina Matsuri, held annually in March. A number or dolls representing the emperor, empress, and their court are displayed on a stepped altar. Girls of ages 7 to 17 visit each other's collections and refreshments are offered to their majesties, then to the guests, in a ritual more than 900 years old.

| Dutch ..... Japanse rituele poppen van klei of porselein, gekleed in echte kleertjes, die worden gebruikt tijdens het jaarlijkse meisjesfestival Hina Matsuri, dat in maart plaatsvindt. Diverse poppen die de keizer, keizerin en hun hofhouding voorstellen, worden dan op een trappenaltaar tentoongesteld. Meisjes tussen de 7 en 17 jaar bekijken elkaars collectie en er worden verversingen aangeboden, eerst aan de koninklijke poppen en daarna aan de gasten. Dit ritueel is al ruim 900 jaar oud. |

| Portuguese ..... Bonecas japonesas de rituais feitas de argila ou porcelana e vestidas com roupas reais que são usadas no festival de meninas, Hina Matsuri, realizado anualmente em março. Um número ou bonecas representando o imperador, a imperatriz e sua corte são exibidas em um altar com degraus. Meninas entre 7 e 17 anos visitam as coleções uma das outras e refeições são oferecidas para suas majestades, em seguida para os convidados, em um ritual com mais de 900 anos. |
