Note: Ceremonies used in Indian religions, particularly by Sikhs. In the Sikh tradition, bhogs are used at the ceremonial end of worship and other important occasions, especially at the end of complete readings of the 'Guru Granth Shahib.' The term, which literally means 'pleasure,' symbolizes the enjoyment of faithful worship and this feeling is often given material form as special food that is distributed.

In the Sikh-traditie worden bhogs gebruikt bij de ceremoniële afsluiting van de eredienst en andere belangrijke gebeurtenissen, met name aan het einde van integrale lezingen van de 'Guru Granth Shahib.' De term betekent letterlijk 'plezier' en symboliseert de vreugde van oprechte geloofsbeleving. Vaak wordt er speciaal voedsel rondgedeeld om dit gevoel van vreugde in materiële vorm te symboliseren. |
