Note: Keywork for the flute developed by Theobald Boehm in the 1830s, involving an improved placement of fingerholes and a key mechanism to provide full venting and bring all fingerholes within easy control of the fingers. Other instrument makers later adapted the system for the clarinet, oboe, bassoon, and other aerophones.

Kleppensysteem voor de fluit, ontwikkeld door Theobald Boehm rond 1830, met een verbeterde plaatsing van vingergaatjes en een kleppenmechanisme dat volledige ventilatie mogelijk maakt en alle vingergaatjes onder gemakkelijke controle van de vingers brengt. Andere instrumentenmakers pasten het systeem later toe op de klarinet, hobo, fagot en andere aerofonen. |

Klappensystem für die Flöte, entwickelt in den 1830er Jahren von Theobald Böhm, mit einer verbesserten Platzierung der Grifflöcher und einer Klappenmechanik, die in Normalstellung offene Klappen vorsieht und alle Tonlöcher unter leichte Kontrolle der Finger bringt.
