Note: Contemporary sculptural works that create surroundings that the viewer can enter; most often indoor installations. For outdoor works that especially exploit or incorporate aspects of their sites and that may surround the viewer, use "environmental art." For sculptural works that are composed of figures and objects arranged into a picturelike scene that the viewer does not enter, use "tableaux (sculpture)."

Additional Notes:
Dutch ..... Gebruik deze term voor kunstwerken met sculptuur- en architectuurelementen, vooral populair na 1945, waarbij een ruimte wordt gevormd (meestal binnen; niet altijd een museum) die door de bezoekers kan worden betreden. Vaak worden verschillende materialen, licht, geluid en communicatiemiddelen gebruikt.Voor dit soort werken na 1970 gebruik 'installaties (beeldhouwwerken)'. Gebruik 'tableaus' voor beeldhouwwerken die zijn samengesteld uit figuren en objecten gerangschikt in een op een schilderij gelijkend tafereel dat de toeschouwer niet betreedt. 
German ..... Zeitgenössisches Bildwerk, das eine Umgebung schafft, in die der Betrachter eintreten kann; meist eine Installation im Innenraum. Für ein Werk im Außenbereich, das insbesondere Aspekte der Stätte ausschöpft oder einbezieht und den Betrachter umgeben kann, siehe ["Environmental Art"](). Für ein Bildwerk, das Figuren und Objekte zu einer bildhaften Szene zusammenstellt, die der Betrachter nicht betritt, siehe ["Tableaux (Skulptur)"]. 
Portuguese ..... Trabalhos esculturais contemporâneos que criam ambientes nos quais observadores podem entrar; frequentemente instalações internas. Para trabalhos ao aor livre que especialmente exploram ou incorporam aspectos de seus locais e que podem envolver o observador, use "arte ambiental". Para trabalhos esculturais que são compostos de figuras e objetos organizados em uma cena parecida com uma imagem na qual o observador não entra, use "tableaux (escultura)". 
Spanish ..... Úsese para obras escultóricas del siglo XX que crean ambientes en los que el espectador puede entrar; a menudo instalaciones interiores. Para obras exteriores que pueden circundar al espectador, use "arte ecológico". Para obras escultóricas que son compuestas por figuras y objetos dispuestos en una escena tipo cuadro al que el espectador no entra, use "tableau (escultura)".
