Note: Circular or rectangular flat dishes, generally made of wood, pottery or metal, on which meat or other food is carved or served. Early wooden examples often have a depressed area for food and a second smaller cavity for salt. Use "chargers" for large platters, usually circular or oval and often made of earthenware or metal, used for serving meat.

Chinese (traditional) ..... 一種圓形或矩形的扁盤,一般為木頭、陶瓷或金屬製,可於其上切割或盛放肉類或其他食物;早期的木製品多有一塊凹陷的部分用來盛裝食物,還有一個較小的凹槽用來放鹽。若是指盛裝肉類用、多呈圓形或橢圓形且為陶土製或金屬製的大型淺盤,則稱為「大淺盤」。 
Dutch ..... Ronde of rechthoekige platte schalen, in het algemeen gemaakt van hout, keramiek of metaal, waarin vlees of ander voedsel wordt gesneden of opgediend. Vroege houten exemplaren hebben vaak een dieper gedeelte voor het voedsel en een tweede kleinere uitsparing voor zout. Gebruik 'platte schotels' voor grote borden, meestal rond of ovaal en vaak van aardewerk of metaal, die worden gebruikt voor het serveren van vlees. 
German ..... Runde oder rechteckige flache Platte, im allgemeinen aus Holz, Töpferware oder Metall gefertigt, auf der Fleisch oder andere Nahrungsmittel tranchiert oder serviert wurden. Frühe hölzerne Exemplare besitzen oft eine vertiefte Stelle für das Essen und eine zweite kleinere Mulde für das Salz. Verwende den Begriff "Bratenplatte" für große Platten, die gewöhnlich rund oder oval und häufig aus Irdenware oder Metall hergestellt sind und die zum Servieren von Fleisch benutzt werden. 
Spanish ..... Fuentes planas circulares o rectangulares, generalmente hechas de madera, cerámica o metal, en las cuales se trincha o sirve carne u otros alimentos. Aquellas de madera más antiguas a menudo tenían un área cóncava para los alimentos y una segunda cavidad más pequeña para la sal. Use "plato grande de servir" para fuentes grandes, generalmente circulares u ovales y a menudo hechas de barro cocido o metal, usadas para servir comidas.
