Rumford lamps (vertical wick lamps, <lamps by form>, ... Furnishings and Equipment (hierarchy name)) |
|
Note: Lamps, usually of painted metal but also found in brass, with a cylindrical font in the shape of a tubular column containing a T-shaped wick tube which supports a flat wick and a rack-and-pinion wick raiser. A flat oval reservoir to the side feeds fuel to the font through a tube. Used with a cylindrical glass chimney and a painted sheet iron shade. Invented about 1800 by Count Rumford.

| Chinese (traditional) ..... 多半以彩繪金屬製成的燈具，但也有黃銅材質者。其油壺為直立之中空圓柱，內有T字型燈芯管支撐扁平燈芯以及由鐵條和小齒輪組成之燈芯推高器；燃料則由位於燈具側邊的扁橢圓形儲油器透過油管輸往油壺。此燈具還包括圓柱形玻璃煙管與彩繪薄鐵片燈罩兩配件，乃西元 1800年由倫福德伯爵（Count Rumford）所發明。 |
| Dutch ..... Lampen, meestal van geverfd metaal en soms van koper, met een cilindrische, zuilvormige houder waarin een T-vormige pithouder zit met een platte pit en een tandradmechanisme om de pit mee omhoog en omlaag te draaien. Vanuit een plat, ovaal reservoir aan de zijkant wordt brandstof door een buisje naar de houder gevoerd. Ze hebben een cilindervormig, glazen rookkanaal en een geverfde gietijzeren kap. Ze zijn rond 1800 door graaf Rumford uitgevonden. |
| Spanish ..... Lámparas, normalmente de metal pintado, pero también encontradas en latón, con un depósito cilíndrico en la forma de una columna tubular que contiene un tubo de mecha en forma de T el que soporta una mecha plana y un elevador de mecha de rack y piñón. Un depósito flotante ovalado al costado alimenta de combustible al depósito a través de un tubo. Utilizado con una chimenea de vidrio cilíndrica y una pantalla de fierro pintada con láminas. Inventado alrededor de 1800 por Count Rumford. |
