Note: Vessels with dual openings, originally used in Buddhist ceremonies for sprinkling water for purification. The form originated in India and was later transmitted to China and Korea. The kundika is one of the usual attributes of the Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara. Scholarship notes that Brahmanical hermits used these vessels to dispense water for their personal use.

| Dutch ..... Vaten met een dubbele opening, oorspronkelijk gebruikt in boeddhistische ceremonies voor het sprenkelen van water voor zuivering. De vorm vindt zijn oorsprong in India en is later naar China en Korea overgebracht. De kundika is een van de gebruikelijke attributen van de Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara. Wetenschappers stellen dat brahmaanse kluizenaars deze vaten gebruikten om water uit te gieten voor persoonlijk gebruik. |
