Note: Bindings, usually of calfskin leather, decorated with patterns and motifs derived from Etruscan pottery, including key patterns, vases, and palmettes. They were popularized in the mid-18th century by the bookbinders of Halifax, Yorkshire, England, notably the Edwards family.

Dutch ..... Boekbanden, meestal van kalfsleer, versierd met patronen en motieven die zijn afgeleid de Etruskisch aardewerk, zoals sleutelpatronen, vazen en palmetten. Ze werden halverwege de 18de eeuw gemeengoed dankzij de boekbinders uit Halifax in het Englese Yorkshire en met name dankzij de familie Edwards.
