Note: Side-gabled vernacular buildings of simple massing, normally having their front walls moved inward to make an integral porch under a single steep roofline; the form was originally brought to Louisiana by French Canadian (Acadian) immigrants with a knowledge of long-span roof framing techniques.

Chinese (traditional) ..... 量體簡樸,具濃厚地方風格的建築;側邊有山牆,正前方牆面通常內縮,以使前門門廊能完全納入其單一陡斜屋頂輪廓線下方;此建築形式最初由具備建造大跨徑屋頂技術知識的法裔加拿大移民(阿卡迪亞人)帶入路易斯安那州。 
Dutch ..... Gebouwen in lokale stijl, van bescheiden afmetingen en met puntgevels aan de zijkanten, waarbij de voormuur meestal een eind naar binnen is geplaatst om een geïntegreerde veranda te maken onder één enkele steile dakkant; deze manier van bouwen werd oorspronkelijk naar Louisiana gebracht door Frans-Canadese (uit Acadië afkomstige) immigranten die kennis hadden van dakconstructietechnieken voor grote spanwijdtes. 
Spanish ..... Edificio de masa simple, vernacular y soportes de gablete, que tiene normalmente sus paredes frontales desplazadas hacia el interior para conseguir así un porche integral debajo de una única línea del tejado inclinada. La forma fue originalmente traída a Luisiana por los inmigrantes francocanadienses con un conocimiento de las técnicas de tejados de larga envergadura.
