Note: Sample extraction technique used for chromatographic analysis of dilute solutions in difficult matrices, liquid and gaseous. Solid-phase microextraction (SPME) has two discrete steps. Extraction is achieved by solute absorption from the sample matrix into a thick layer of silicone or related adsorptive material. Analytes are then transferred into a chromatography inlet system by gaseous or liquid means.

Dutch ..... Monsterextractietechniek die wordt gebruikt voor chromatografische analyse van verdunde oplossingen in moeilijke matrices, zowel vloeibaar als gasvormig. Solid-phase microextraction (SPME) bestaat uit twee afzonderlijke stappen. Extractie wordt bewerkstelligd door absorptie van de opgeloste stof uit de monstermatrix in een dikke laag silicone of een dergelijk absorberend materiaal. Vervolgens wordt het door middel van een vloeistof of gas overgebracht naar een chromatografisch inlaatsysteem.
