Note: Analytical technique used to measure changes in energy of a material as a sample and a reference are individually heated at a predetermined rate. Heat-generating or absorbing processes are detected as differences in electrical energy supplied to either the sample or the reference material. The heat flow into or out of the sample is due to the occurrence of a physical or chemical process such as melting, crystallization, or ceramic firing temperature.

Een analytische techniek waarmee energieveranderingen in een materiaal gemeten worden terwijl een monster en een controlestof met een vooraf vastgestelde snelheid afzonderlijk verhit worden. Processen waarin warmte gegenereerd of geabsorbeerd wordt, worden gedetecteerd in de vorm van verschillen in de elektrische energie tussen het monster en de controlestof. De warmtestroom in of uit het monster is het gevolg van fysische of chemische processen, zoals smelting, kristallisatie of keramische baktemperatuur. |
