Note: A category of Nahua chimalli (shield) designs that were usually paired with the Cuextecatl warrior costume. At least five basic designs are identified, the most common feature either the yacameztli (crescent-shaped nose plate) or the double rectangle motif known as "hawk scratches" that are both associated with the Huastec region.

| Spanish ..... Una categoría de diseños de chimalli (escudo) nahua que generalmente se asociaban con el traje de guerrero Cuextecatl. Se identifican al menos cinco diseños básicos, entre los cuales los más comunes son el yacameztli (placa nasal en forma de media luna) o el motivo de un doble rectángulo conocido como "arañazos de halcón", que son dos disegnos asociados con la región de la Huasteca. |
