Klassieke diermotieven van Indiase oorsprong die algemeen ingang vonden in de Aziatische kunst, met afbeeldingen van een fabeldier samengesteld uit delen van een krokodil en een olifant, waarbij lofwerk een gekrulde staart moet voorstellen. Dit motief fungeert vaak in de architectuur, doorgaans in combinatie met lateien bij vrijstaande poorten gedragen door bewerkte zuilen op een gegoten voet. |
