Note: Refers to the style and period associated with the reign of Murad II, son of Mehmed I. He ruled from 1421 to 1444, when he abdicated but returned to the throne to rule from 1446 to 1451. The most significant architectural accomplishment of his reign was the construction of the huge 'Three-balconied Mosque,' begun in 1438 and was so named for its novelty of having a triple balconied minaret. The building was unprecedented in its use of patterns of chequer-work, lozenges, and twisting stripes of reddish-pink stone, grand courtyard and very tall minarets. Murad II was the last sultan to be buried in the city of Bursa, but the site he chose was more remote, and the resulting complex of buildings and royal burial grounds are low-lying and simple in nature than previous works. Also of note is the accompanying garden with it's complicated assortment of cedar and plane trees, oleander and rose bushes.

| Dutch ..... Verwijst naar de stijl en periode die in verband worden gebracht met de heerschappij van Moerad II, zoon van Mehmed I. Hij was aan de macht van 1421 tot 1444, toen hij afstand deed van de troon. Daarna was hij van 1446 tot 1451 wederom aan de macht. Het belangrijkste architectuurproject tijdens zijn heerschappij was de bouw van de enorme 'moskee met drie balkons' waaraan men in 1438 begon en die zo werd genoemd vanwege de vernieuwende minaret met drie balkons. Het gebouw was uniek met zijn ruitjespatronen, glas-in-loodramen en kronkelende strepen in rood-roze steen, een grote binnenplaats en enorm hoge minaretten. Moerad II was de laatste sultan die werd begraven in de stad Bursa, maar de locatie die hij had gekozen, was meer afgelegen en het resulterende complex van gebouwen en de Koninklijke begraafplaats is lager gelegen en eenvoudiger van aard dan eerdere werken. Ook vermeldenswaardig is de bijbehorende tuin met een grote verscheidenheid aan ceders, platanen, oleanders en rozenstruiken. |
| Spanish ..... Se refiere al estilo y periodo asociados con el reinado de Murad II, hijo de Mahomet I. Él gobernó entre 1421 a 1444 luego de abdicar pero retornar al trono para gobernar de 1446 a 1451. El logro arquitectónico más importante de su reinado fue la construcción de gran "Mezquita de tres balcones", comenzada en 1438 y recibió este nombre por su novedad en cuanto a contar con un minarete de tres balcones. Esta edificación no tiene precedente en su diseño de ajedrezado, losanges y cintas retorcidas de piedra de color rosa-rojizo, un amplio patio y minaretes muy altos. Murad II fue el último sultán enterrado en la ciudad de Bursa, sin embargo el lugar por él escogido era aún más remoto y el complejo resultante de edificaciones y sitios de enterramientos reales son bajo nivel y simples en comparación a obras previas. También deben considerarse los jardines que los acompañan con su delicada selección de cedros y plátanos y arbustos de adelfa y rosas. |
