Note: Style and culture of a Native American tribe in coastal Virginia. Historically allied with the Powhatan paramountcy (but not a constituent of its confederacy) and were one of the first tribes to meet European settlers. Today the Chickahominy exist as two separate tribes with their own distinct histories, the "Chickahominy Tribe," and the "Chickahominy Tribe Eastern Division."
