Note: Decorative motifs often found in Chinese and Japanese art which feature tendrils and spirals of climbing plants. They are seen on many objects including textiles, ceramics, metal work, lacquerware, and sculptural and architectural detailing. Literally "Chinese grass motif" this term is short for the longer "karakusamon" and is sometimes used interchangeably with "karahanamon", meaning "Chinese floral motif".

Chinese (traditional) ..... 經常在中國及日本的藝術中見到的裝飾圖案,有著攀爬植物的卷鬚蔓藤及螺旋形狀。包括紡織品、陶器、金屬作品、漆器和雕刻、建築上的小裝飾品中都可見到它們。字面上之意義為「中國草紋圖案」的此一詞彙,是更長的「唐草文」(karakusamon)的簡寫,而且有時會和意義為「中國花紋圖案」的「唐花文」(Karahanamon)圖飾交互使用。 
Dutch ..... Decoratieve motieven die vaak worden gebruikt in de Chinese en Japanse kunst, met ranken en spiralen van klimplanten. Ze zijn te zien op vele objecten, zoals textiel, keramiek, metaal, lakwerk en versieringen in de beeldhouwkunst en de architectuur. De term is een afkorting van het langere 'karakusamon' en betekent letterlijk 'Chinees grasmotief'. De term wordt soms gebruikt als synoniem van 'karahanamon', wat 'Chinees bloemmotief' betekent.
