| Dutch ..... Verwijst naar een stijl van schilderkunst en beeldhouwkunst die werd verspreid door een koloniale kunstacademie in Ecuador, gesticht in 1552. Daarmee werd de basis gelegd voor een religieuze kunststroming die vooral houten polychrome beeldhouwwerken en schilderijen zou voortbrengen. In de architectuur heeft de stijl invloed uitgeoefend op kerken, kloosters en landhuizen, met kenmerkende elementen zoals barokzuilen en -plafonds, en omvangrijke, van bladgoud voorziene altaren. |
