Note: Processions associated with a wedding or other marriage ceremony. Included are processions to the place of the marriage ceremony, with either the bride or both bride and groom or both partners of the same sex, often accompanied by the wedding party. Wedding processions may take place on foot, mounted on a horse or other animal, or carried by a cart, carriage, automobile, or other conveyance. The simpler parading of the bride down the aisle of the church may also be considered a wedding procession. Also included are processions after the ceremony, as when the married couple and their entourage proceed through the town.

| Dutch ..... Optochten bij een bruiloft of andere huwelijksceremonie. Het betreft de optochten naar de plek van de huwelijksceremonie, met de bruid of de bruid en bruidegom of partners van hetzelfde geslacht, vaak begeleid door de bruiloftsgasten. Bruiloftsoptochten kunnen te voet plaatsvinden, te paard of op andere dieren, of met een wagen, koets, auto of ander transportmiddel. De eenvoudigere parade van de bruid door het gangpad van de kerk kan ook als een soort bruiloftsoptocht worden beschouwd. Ook optochten na de ceremonie, wanneer het getrouwde stel en hun gasten door de stad trekken, worden bruiloftsoptochten genoemd. |
