Note: Crowns crafted for the funeral ceremony of young, unmarried women in England from the 17th through the 19th centuries. Never intended to be worn, they consist of dome-shaped wooden frames decorated with ribbons, flowers, rosettes, and the names of the decreased. They were either carried before the coffin or placed upon it.

| Dutch ..... Kroontjes die zijn gemaakt voor het begrafenisritueel voor jonge, ongetrouwde vrouwen in Engeland van de 17de tot en met de 19de eeuw. Ze waren niet bestemd om daadwerkelijk te worden gedragen en bestonden uit een koepelvormig houtskelet versierd met linten, bloemen, rozetten en de naam van de overledene. Ze werden voor de lijkkist uit gedragen of er bovenop gelegd. Geen Nederlands equivalent. |
| German ..... Krone, die für die Begräbniszeremonie von jungen unverheirateten Frauen in England vom 17. bis zum 19. Jahrhundert gefertigt wurde. Niemals zum Tragen bestimmt, besteht sie aus einem kuppelförmigen hölzernen Rahmen, der mit Bändern, Blumen, Rosetten und dem Namen der Verstorbenen dekoriert ist. Sie wurde entweder vor dem Sarg getragen oder auf ihm platziert. |
