| Dutch ..... Verwijst naar een systeem van overtuigingen en religie dat in de jaren 50 van de 20ste eeuw in het leven is geroepen door L. Ron Hubbard. Dat systeem is gebaseerd op de beginselen van de dianetica, een door Hubbard ontwikkelde vorm van psychotherapie waarbij verschillende technieken worden gebruikt om de geest te bevrijden van pijnlijke ervaringen of engrammen. Scientology omvat een zeer gestructureerd stelsel van geloofsovertuigingen, onder meer over de rol van de ‘thetan’, iets dat vergelijkbaar is met de ziel of met levensenergie, in het fysieke universum. De leer beschouwt Jezus Christus als een belangrijke leraar en hecht veel waarde aan zelfbeschikking.
