Note: Dwellings that house humans and livestock under a single roof. Housebarns include rectangular buildings sheltering animals and people at opposite ends, often with a common entry, and two-story buildings with people living on the top story and livestock below. Such houses have been used since the Neolithic period, especially in the colder climates of Europe and North America.

In gebruik sinds de neolithische periode, vooral in de koudere klimaten van Europa en Noord-Amerika. 
Spanish ..... Amplia clase de edificios rectangualares que cobijan bajo un único techo dos funciones diferentes en sus extremos opuestos, con frecuencia con una estrada común; un extrem aloja a la familia, y el otro, por lo general, al ganado. Utilizada desde el periodo neolítico, especialmente en los climás más fríos de Europa y Norteamérica.
