Note: Refers a type of traditional limestone house of southern Italy, particularly southern Apulia. Trulli are circular in plan and are constructed with roughly worked limestone boulders and feature distinctive conical, domed, or pyramidal roofs of corbeled, dry-walled masonry. This mortarless technique is prehistoric but still in use in this region. Several trulli can be joined together to form complex dwellings that combine flat and conical roofs. The exteriors are often whitewashed and the roofs tile-covered; the main door is typically arched and the windows are generally few and small.

| Chinese (traditional) ..... 義大利南部，尤其是指南阿普利亞區的一種傳統石灰屋舍。屋舍呈圓型結構，用略經加工的石灰岩塊砌成，以乾燥石塊疊澀堆砌而成之錐形、圓拱或金字塔形醒目屋頂為其特色。此種不使用灰漿黏合的技術源自史前，但在當地仍沿用此法。此石屋除了單一結構外，也可能綜合平式與錐形屋頂而組成複合式結構。其外牆常刷白，屋頂常以磚瓦覆蓋；大門一般為拱形，窗戶通常少而小。 |
| Dutch ..... Verwijst naar een type traditionele woning van kalksteen in Zuid-Italië, met name het zuiden van Apulië. Trulli hebben een cirkelvormig grondplan en zijn opgetrokken uit ruw bewerkte rotsblokken van kalksteen, met een kenmerkend dak van gestapeld metselwerk op kraagstenen. Deze specieloze techniek dateert uit de prehistorie maar is nog altijd in gebruik in deze regio. Meerdere trulli kunnen worden samengevoegd tot complexe wooneenheden met allerlei combinaties van platte en kegelvormige daken. De buitenzijde is vaak witgekalkt, de daken zijn bedekt met dakpannen en de hoofdingang is meestal boogvormig; er wordt spaarzaam gebruik gemaakt van ramen, die meestal klein zijn. |
