| Dutch ..... Historisch een soort papiergeldstelsel dat in Europa vanaf het eind van de Middeleeuwen tot het begin van de nieuwe tijd vaak als krediet werd gebruikt onder handelslieden. Nu verwijst het naar schriftelijke opdrachten voor het betalen van een bepaalde geldsom op vertoon of op vooraf vastgestelde data. Wordt ook gebruikt bij buitenlandse transacties. Gebruik ' wissels (2) (verhandelbare waardepapieren)' voor soortgelijke opdrachten tot betalingen bij binnenlandse transacties. |
