Note: Lamps with a relatively short stem making them suitable for standing on tables and other furniture. The term is especially used in reference to late 18th-century lamps designed to burn whale oil and burning fluid compounds, which generally maintain the traditional stemware divisions of top, stem, and foot and often resemble stemmed drinking glasses of the same period.

| Dutch ..... Lampen met een tamelijk korte steel, waardoor ze makkelijk op tafels of andere meubels kunnen staan. De benaming wordt vooral gebruikt om te verwijzen naar de 18e-eeuwse lampen die op traanolie en samengestelde brandsoffen branden en meestal de traditionele glaswerk-op-steel verhoudingen van bovenstuk, steel en voet volgen, waardoor ze vaak lijken op drinkglazen met een voetje uit dezelfde periode. |
| German ..... Leuchte mit einem relativ kurzen Fuß, wodurch man sie auf Tischen und anderen Möbeln platzieren kann. Der Begriff bezieht sich insbesondere auf Lampen aus dem späten 18. Jahrhundert, die Walöl und flüssige Brennstoffverbindungen verwendeten und traditionell aus Oberteil, Stiel und Fuß bestanden, wodurch sie häufig den Stielgläsern aus derselben Epoche ähnelten. |
| Spanish ..... Lámparas con un pie relativamente corto que las hacen adecuadas para mantenerse de pie sobre mesas y otros muebles. El término es especialmente usado en referencia a lámparas de fines del siglo XVIII diseñadas para quemar aceite de ballena y quemar compuestos fluidos, las que generalmente conservan las tradicionales divisiones en la parte superior, tronco y pie y a menudo se asemejan a las copas de pie del mismo período. |
