Note: Romanian language in the Republic of Moldova, since 2013 not classified as a separate language. Officially written in Roman alphabet, although it may also be written in Cyrillic. It is a variant of the principal dialect of Romania, differing only in minor points of phonetics and vocabulary. It was treated as a separate language during Soviet rule and was accorded the status of national language in Moldova's 1994 constitution. Moldovan is officially written in the Roman alphabet, although for less formal writing many Moldovans continue to use the Cyrillic alphabet adopted under Soviet rule.

| Dutch ..... Variant van het voornaamste dialect van Roemenië, die slechts op kleine punten van de fonetiek en vocabulaire van dat dialect verschilt. In de Sovjettijd werd het echter als aparte taal beschouwd, en in de Moldavische grondwet uit 1994 werd het de status van nationale taal toegekend. Moldavisch wordt officieel geschreven in het Latijnse alfabet, maar in minder formele context gebruiken veel Moldaviërs nog steeds het cyrillische alfabet dat onder de Sovjets werd ingevoerd. |
