Note: Tall pieces of furniture typically having drawers on one side and a narrow closet or space for hanging clothes on the other. The term originated in the Southern United States, combining the words "chiffonier" and "wardrobe," referring to the two functions of the chifforobe.

Additional Notes:
Dutch ..... Een hoog meubelstuk dat meestal aan één zijde is voorzien van laden en aan de andere zijde ruimte bevat voor het ophangen van kleding. De term heeft zijn oorsprong in het zuiden van de Verenigde Staten en is een samenvoeging van 'chiffonier' (chiffonière) en 'wardrobe' (kleerkast).
