| Dutch ..... Verwijst naar de beweging binnen de Britse beeldhouwkunst van circa 1870 tot circa 1920 die ernaar streefde de kwaliteit van de Britse beeldhouwkunst te herstellen. De stroming werd beschouwd als een verwijdering van het conservationisme en het weinig uitgesproken karakter van het neoclassisicme. De stijl kenmerkt zich door het grotere realisme, een hang naar symbolisme en fantasie, het gebruik van niet-classisistiche thema’s en het gebruik van andere materialen dan marmer. |
