Note: Technique in which paint is applied directly to textiles with only a thin gesso preparation; it was popular in Spain and its colonies during certain periods. The paintings made with this technique lent themselves to being rolled and transported with little damage to the paint layer. For the similar glue-based technique preferred in northern Europe and Italy, prefer "tüchlein (technique)."

| Dutch ..... Techniek waarbij verf direct op textiel wordt aangebracht, na slechts een dunne voorbewerking met gesso. De techniek was in bepaalde perioden populair in Spanje en zijn koloniën. De schilderingen die met deze techniek waren gemaakt, konden worden opgerold en getransporteerd met weinig schade voor de verflaag. Gebruik 'Tüchlein (techniek)' voor de soortgelijke op lijm gebaseerde techniek die in Noord-Europa en Italië meestal werd gebruikt.
