Note: A technique involving the pooling of pigments to create distinctive blurred effects. Color is applied with a wet brush and a second color is then applied before the first has dried. The technique most likely originated in Chinese ink painting, but it was developed and made popular in Japan by Sosatsu in the 17th century and continued to be used throughout the 18th and 19th centuries. It was most often seen in Japanese Rimpa-style painting. |

Dutch ..... Een techniek waarbij kleurstoffen worden gecombineerd om karakteristieke vervagingseffecten te bereiken. Met een natte kwast wordt een kleur aangebracht en vervolgens wordt een tweede kleur aangebracht voordat de eerste is opgedroogd. De techniek wordt meestal aangetroffen in de Japanse rimpa-school. |
Spanish ..... Una técnica que implica la reunión de pigmentos para crear efectos velados distintivos. El color se aplica con un cepillo mojado y un segundo color entonces se aplica antes de que el primero se haya secado. Fue visto más a menudo en la pintura japonesa del estilo Rimpa. |
