Note: Fine white translucent porcelain with a thick white glaze made at Dehua (Te Hua) from the late Ming period and exported to Southeast Asia and to Europe from the 18th century.Characteristic forms were small figures depicting Buddhist deities and dignitaries, cups, and vases. The term is also used for similar ware produced elsewhere in Japan and Europe, such as in Saint-Cloud, France and Chelsea and Bow, England.

Additional Notes:
Dutch ..... Fijn, wit, doorschijnend porselein met een dik wit glazuur, dat vanaf de late Ming-periode werd geproduceerd in Dehua (Te Hua), en werd geëxporteerd naar Zuidoost-Azië en vanaf de 18e eeuw ook naar Europa. Kenmerkende producten uit deze traditie waren kleine beeldjes van boeddhistische goden en hoogwaardigheidsbekleders, bekers, en vazen. De term wordt ook gebruikt voor soortgelijk porselein dat elders in Japan of in Europa geproduceerd is, zoals in Saint-Cloud in Frankrijk, en in Chelsea en Bow, in Engeland.
