Note: Ware produced on the Greek mainland and dating from the Middle Helladic, characterized by wheelmade, angular shapes, and unornamented surfaces. The pottery was named by Schliemann after the legendary inhabitants of Orchomenus in central Greece, where he first came upon it; today it is believed unlikely that the Minyans were the original creators of Minyan ware

| Dutch ..... Aardewerk dat in de middel-Helladische periode werd geproduceerd op het Griekse vasteland en gekenmerkt wordt door met wielen gemaakte, hoekige vormen en onversierde oppervlakken. Het kreeg zijn naam van Schliemann, in verwijzing naar de legendarische inwoners van Orchomenus in Centraal-Griekenland, waar hij het voor het eerst tegenkwam. Vandaag de dag wordt het onwaarschijnlijk geacht dat de Minyers de oorspronkelijke makers van Minyisch aardewerk waren. |
