Note: Pottery first created in the late 18th century by the merchant Numani Rozan near Kuwana in Ise and later continued inTokyo; now manufactured in and around Yojjaichi, Mie Prefecture. Productions typically include tea ceremony wares, dishes, bowls and candlesticks covered with a pale yellow milky glaze and decorated with a three-color design mostly of red, green and blue or purple.

Additional Notes:
Dutch ..... Pottenbakkersgoed dat voor het eerst gemaakt werd in de late 18e eeuw door een koopman, Numani Rozan, nabij Kuwana, in Ise, en later in Tokio; wordt tegenwoordig geproduceerd in en rond Yojjaichi in de Mie-prefectuur. Goederen in deze traditie zijn onder andere ceremoniĆ«le theewaren, borden, kommen en kandelaars, met een lichtgeel, melkachtig glazuur en een driekleurig decoratief ontwerp, veelal in het rood, groen, en blauw of paars.
