Een voornamelijk in kledingmode en interieurontwerp gehanteerde algemene stijl die wordt gekenmerkt door het teruggrijpen op eerdere stijlen die nostalgisch retrospectief zijn, met name stijlen uit het midden van de 20ste eeuw. Het verschil met 'ouderwets' is dat retrostijl niet verouderd is qua vorm of karakter, maar refereert aan een eerdere stijl die niet zo ver in het verleden ligt als 'ouderwetse' stijlen en bovendien nog steeds wordt gezien als begeerlijk en populair. |
