Note: A seaweed-derived adhesive similar to agar that is traditionally used by Japanese scroll mounters as a consolidant. In Western conservation, Funori is often used as an adhesive for flaking media. It dries into an extremely smooth matte film, which makes it well suited for adhering fills in very thin paper.

Additional Notes:
Dutch ..... Een van zeewier gemaakt hechtmiddel dat lijkt op agar en traditioneel in Japan als consoliderend middel wordt gebruikt om rolschilderingen te bevestigen. In het westen wordt funori vaak bij conservering gebruikt als hechtmiddel bij schilferende media. Na opdrogen wordt het een zeer gladde, matte laag, waardoor het geschikt is om vulmateriaal aan te brengen bij zeer dun papier.
