Note: A transitional visual effect used to indicate to beginning of one scene and the ending of another by means of an image gradually disappearing (fade-out), while another image grows stronger and gradually comes into view (fade-in). An image fading into black typically indicates a major separation of action, while a fade to white can indicate a character's loss of consciousness or death.

| Chinese (traditional) ..... 一種藉由一畫面漸次消失(淡出)，而同時間內另一畫面逐漸清晰且浮現（淡入）的手法來暗示一個鏡頭的開始，而另一鏡頭結束的過場視覺效果。一幅逐漸淡入而成的黑畫面，通常作為情節的主要分隔點，而淡出成白畫面則用來顯示一個角色的失去意識或者是死亡。 |
| Dutch ..... Een visueel overgangseffect dat wordt gebruikt om het begin van een scène en het einde van een andere aan te geven door een beeld geleidelijk te laten verdwijnen (uitfaden), terwijl een ander beeld geleidelijk zichtbaar wordt (infaden). Het faden van een beeld naar zwart impliceert meestal een belangrijke scheiding van de actie, terwijl het faden naar wit kan duiden op bewustzijnsverlies of de dood van een personage. |
