Note: Refers to the art and cultural movement of the mid- to late 1960s that was international in scope, but flourished mainly on the American West Coast. In the visual arts, the style is characterized by obsessively detailed images, ambiguous representations of space, and acidic colors.

| Dutch ..... Verwijst naar de culturele beweging en de kunst uit de tweede helft van de jaren 60 van de 20ste eeuw. Deze stroming had een internationale reikwijdte, maar floreerde voornamelijk aan de Amerikaanse Westkust. De beweging propageerde onderzoek van het onderbewuste door middel van drugs, zintuiglijke begoocheling, en volledige onderdompeling van de zintuigen in muziek en lichtshows. In de beeldende kunst kenmerkt deze stijl zich door obsessief gedetailleerde afbeeldingen, dubbelzinnige voorstellingen van de ruimte en felle kleuren. |
