Note: Refers to the term used to describe the artistic activities of German artist Kurt Schwitters, who was influenced by the theories of Dada. Invented by chance when cutting out the word "Commerzbank" from a newspaper, the style is characterized by the production of collages made of discarded items such as tickets, stamps, and catalogues with the intention of freeing art from traditional materials and techniques and embracing urban civilization.

Term voor het aanduiden van de artistieke activiteiten van de Duitse kunstenaar Kurt Schwitters, die werd beïnvloed door de Dada-theorieën.De term ontstond toevallig bij het uitknippen van het woord "Commerzbank" uit een krant. De stijl kenmerkt zich door de vervaardiging van collages gemaakt van afvalmateriaal zoals kaartjes, stempels en catalogi. Doel was de kunst te bevrijden van de traditionele materialen en technieken, en meer gebruik te maken van de stedelijke omgeving. |
