Note: Refers to late Gothic German architecture and art, from the mid-14th century through the mid-16th century. The term means "special gothic" and is used infrequently by modern scholars, though it was formerly popular, having been first used by German art historians in the early 20th century to describe what they saw as the "irrational" character of German Gothic style. The style differs from the French style of Gothic in its extensive use of the hall church rather than the basilica, and in its unified interior as opposed to clearly defined spatial units.

| Dutch ..... Verwijst naar de laatgotische Duitse architectuur en kunst van het midden van de 14de eeuw tot aan het midden van de 16de eeuw. De term betekent ‘bijzondere gotiek’ en wordt weinig gebruikt door moderne onderzoekers, hoewel het voorheen een populaire term was. De term werd voor het eerst gebruikt door Duitse kunsthistorici aan het begin van de 20ste eeuw, teneinde het in hun ogen ‘irrationele’ karakter van de Duitse gotiek te beschrijven. De stijl verschilt van de Franse gotiek door het uitgebreide gebruik van de hallenkerk in plaats van de basiliek en door de eenheid in het interieur, in tegenstelling tot duidelijk afgebakende ruimtelijke eenheden. |
| Spanish ..... Se refiere a la arquitectura y arte alemanes del Gótico Tardío, desde mediados del siglo XIV hasta mediados del siglo XVI. El término significa "Gótico Especial" y es usado ocasionalmente por los estudiosos modernos, aunque fue popular anteriormente, siendo usado primero por historiadores de arte alemanes a principios del siglo XX para describir lo que ellos vieron como el "irracional" carácter del estilo Gótico alemán. El estilo difiere del estilo francés de Gótico en su uso generalizado de la iglesia-salón en lugar de la basílica y en su interior unificado como opuesto a las unidades espaciales claramente definidas. |
