Note: Devices used to measure the exact level of twist, or the spiral arrangement of fibers around the axis of yarn, inside a spun yarn sample. To calculate this measurement, these devices work to remove the twist by mechanically rotating a yarn sample held between two moveable clamps with a defined tension rate. The number of rotations needed to untwist the yarn's fibers are then calculated. The higher the twist measurement, the stronger the yarn is determined to be.
