Note: Group of several Austroasiatic languages spoken by the Munda people in northern and central India. Some scholars divide the languages into two subfamilies. Characteristics of the Munda languages include three numbers (singular, dual, and plural), two gender classes (animate and inanimate) for nouns, and the use of either suffixes or auxiliaries for indicating the tenses of verb forms. In Munda sound systems, consonant sequences are infrequent, except in the middle of a word. Except in Korkū, where syllables show a distinction between high and low tone, accent is predictable in the Munda languages.

Dutch ..... Groep van verschillende Austroaziatische talen die worden gesproken door het Munda-volk van Noord- en Centraal-India. Sommige experts verdelen de taal in twee onderfamilies. Kenmerkend voor deze talen zijn onder andere de drie getallen (enkelvoud, tweevoud en meervoud), twee geslachtscategorieën voor zelfstandig naamwoorden (levend en levenloos) en het gebruik van voor- of bijvoegsels om de tijd van een werkwoord aan te geven. In het geluidensysteem van het Munda komen clusters van medeklinkers zelden voor, behalve in het midden van een woord. Behalve in het Korku, waar bij lettergrepen een onderscheid wordt gemaakt tussen hoge en lage tonen, is de klemtoon in Munda-talen voorspelbaar.
