Note: Ceramic ware made of the material porcelain, which is white kaolin and a feldspathic rock that react when fired to form a natural glass. In China, porcelain ware includes all highly fired ware that produces a ringing sound when struck. In Europe, it is limited to hard-fired ceramic ware that is translucent.

| Dutch ..... Keramische goederen die gemaakt zijn van porselein: wit kaolien en een veldspaat die bij het bakken met elkaar reageren en een natuurlijk glas vormen. In China worden alle op hoge temperatuur gebakken pottenbakkersgoederen die een heldere klank afgeven als je er op tikt, tot het porselein gerekend. In Europa wordt de term beperkt tot op hoge temperatuur gebakken keramiek die doorschijnend is. |
