Note: Yellow crystalline acidic compound found in tobacco leaves, forsythia flowers, common rue, and other plants. Rutin is used medicinally for its antioxidant properties and as a colorant. It is yellow upon precipitation, and becomes brown with exposure to heat or light.

| Dutch ..... Een gele, kristallijne zuurverbinding die te vinden is in tabaksbladeren, de bloemen van het Chinese klokje, de wijnruit en andere planten. Rutine wordt omwille van zijn antioxiderende eigenschappen als geneesmiddel gebruikt, en daarnaast ook als kleurstof. Bij neerslag is het geel van kleur, maar na blootstelling aan hitte of licht wordt het bruin. |
