Note: Refers to glass that was originally manufactured in the forest regions of France and Germany in the Middle Ages. It is usually greenish, yellowish, or brownish in color, and the glass is typically rather thick, simple in form, mold blown, and decorated with trailing and prunts. It is characterized by the alkali ingredient having been provided by potash from the ashes of burnt beechwod, fern (bracken), or other woods.

Additional Notes:
Dutch ..... Verwijst naar glas dat oorspronkelijk, in de Middeleeuwen, werd vervaardigd in de bosgebieden van Frankrijk en Duitsland. Het glas heeft meestal een groenige, gelige of bruinige kleur, en is doorgaans nogal dik, eenvoudig van vorm, vormgeblazen en gedecoreerd met pipet en prunts. Kenmerkend voor het glas is het alkali-bestanddeel: potas uit de asresten van gebrand beukenhout, varen (adelaarsvaren) of van andere houtsoorten. 
Spanish ..... Se refiere a un vidrio originalmente fabricado en las regiones boscosas de Francia y Alemania durante la Edad Media. Es habitualmente verdoso, amarillento o marrón, y el vidrio es característicamente más bien grueso, simple de forma, modelado por soplado y decorado con "trailing" y "prunts". Se caracteriza por su ingrediente alcalino obtenido de la potasa proveniente de cenizas de madera de haya, helecho y otras.
