Note: A Hindu festival celebrating the birth of the elephant-headed god Ganesha. This festival, lasting seven to ten days, culminates on the fourth day of the lunar month of Bhadra (August-September). It is particularly popular in the Maharashtra state in India. Worshippers place instruments of work before Ganesha, god of wisdom and prosperity, in order for them to be blessed. This joyous festival features many statues and images of Ganesha and culminates in a spectacular parade called Ganesha Visarjana. Worshippers are forbidden to look at the moon on this day because the moon laughed at Ganesha when he fell from his mount, the rat.

Dutch ..... Een hindoeïstisch feest waarin de geboorte van Ganesha, de god met de olifantenkop, wordt gevierd. Dit feest, dat zeven tot tien dagen duurt, bereikt op de vierde dag van de maanmaand Bhadra (augustus-september) zijn hoogtepunt. Het is met name populair in de Indiase deelstaat Maharashtra. Aanbidders brengen gereedschappen en dergelijke naar Ganesha, de god van wijsheid en voorspoed, om deze te laten zegenen. Tijdens het feest zijn talrijke standbeelden en afbeeldingen van Ganesha te zien, met als hoogtepunt een spectaculaire optocht, de Ganesha Visarjana. Op deze dag mogen de aanbidders niet naar de maan kijken, omdat de maan Ganesha heeft uitgelachen toen die van zijn rijdier, een rat, viel. 
Spanish ..... Un carnaval hindú celebrando el nacimiento del Dios Ghanesa, cabeza de elefante. Este carnaval, dura entre siete a diez días, culmina en el cuarto día del mes lunar de Bhada (Agosto-Septiembre). Es particularmente popular en el estado hindú de Maharashtra. Los feligreses presentan instrumentos de trabajo ante Ghanesa, Dios de la Sabiduría y la prosperidad, con el fin de ser bendecidos. Este entretenido festival muestra esculturas e imágenes de Ganesha y culmina en un espectacular desfile llamado Ganesha Visarjana. Los feligreses tienen prohibido mirar la luna en estos días porque la luna se rió de Ganesha cuando esta cayó de su montaña, la Rata.
