Note: Containers for the safe storage of articles; use especially for boxlike receptacles, generally of steel or iron construction and having one or more securing devices, that can be freestanding or built into a wall or vault and which are used to protect money and other valuables against fire or theft. Prefer "kitchen safes" for ventilated cabinets in which food is stored. Prefer "strongboxes" for lockable boxes which tend to be smaller and more portable.

| Dutch ..... Houders voor het veilig opbergen van artikelen. Wordt vooral gebruikt voor doosvormige containers, meestal gemaakt van staal of ijzer, die een of meer mogelijkheden ter beveiliging hebben, die vrijstaand kunnen zijn of ingebouwd in een muur of gewelf en die gebruikt worden om geld en andere kostbaarheden te beschermen tegen brand of diefstal. Gebruik `provisiekast' voor geventileerde kasten waarin voedsel wordt bewaard. Gebruik `geldkisten' voor afsluitbare kisten die vaak kleiner zijn en gemakkelijker te dragen. |

Receptáculos para el almacenaje seguro de artículos; término especialmente usado para aquellos en forma de caja, generalmente de acero o hierro y provistos de uno o más mecanismos de seguridad, que pueden estar de pie o construídos en una muralla o boveda y son usados para proteger dinero y otros valores del fuego o robos. Prefiérase "caja de seguridad para cocinas" para armarios ventilados en los cuales se almacena alimentos. Prefiéra "caja de seguridad" para cajas que se pueden cerrar con llave, las cuales tienden a ser más pequeñas y más fáciles de transportar.
