Note: Refers to the form of Hinduism that emerged from the cult of Vasudeva-Krishna. It is founded on the worship of the god Vishnu and of his incarnations, principally Rama and Krishna. The religion features an emphasis on devotional worship (bhakti) in which the ultimate goal of the devotee is to transcend the cycle of birth and death, with the help of divine grace, in order to join Vishnu in spiritual communion.

| Dutch ..... Verwijst naar de vorm van het hindoeïsme die is voortgekomen uit de Vasudeva-Krishna-cultus. Het visjnoeïsme is gebaseerd op de verering van de god Visjnoe en zijn verschijningsvormen, met name Rama en Krishna. Bij de religie ligt de nadruk op devotie (bhakti), waarbij het uiteindelijke doel van de gelovige is om met hulp van de goddelijke genade de cyclus van geboorte en dood te overstijgen, om een spiritueel verbond aan te gaan met Visjnoe. |
