Note: The belief system, teachings, and practices of the Worldwide Brotherhood or Rosicrucians, first documented in 1614. The legendary founder was named Christian Rosenkreuz, said to have been born in 1378. The name probably actually derives from the order’s symbol, a rose on a cross, which is similar to the family coat of arms of Martin Luther. Rosicrucian teachings are a combination of occultism and other religious beliefs and practices, including Hermeticism, Jewish mysticism, and Christian Gnosticism. The core of their beliefs is that they possess esoteric wisdom handed down from ancient times.

Dutch ..... Het geloofssysteem, de leer en de praktijken van de wereldwijde broederschap van de Rozenkruisers, die in 1614 voor het eerst is gedocumenteerd. Volgens de legende is Christian Rosenkreuz, die in 1378 zou zijn geboren, de oprichter. In werkelijkheid is de naam echter waarschijnlijk afgeleid van het symbool van de orde, een roos op een kruis, dat lijkt op het familiewapen van Martin Luther. De leer van de Rozenkruisers is een combinatie van occultisme en andere geloofsstromingen en -praktijken: hermetisme, joodse mystiek en christelijk gnosticisme. De kern van het Rozenkruisergeloof is dat zij over esoterische wijsheid beschikken die uit oude tijden is overgeleverd.
