Note: Paper made on a machine that allows pulp to flow onto a moving and vibrating mesh or belt, thus forming a continuous strip that may be dried and pressed before being wound onto a roll for storage. Machine-made paper may exhibit laid lines, chain lines, and watermarks that mimic those of handmade paper.

| Dutch ..... Papier dat gemaakt is met een machine waarin pulp op een bewegend en trillend stuk gaas of op een band kan stromen, zodat er een doorgaande strook ontstaat die kan worden gedroogd en geperst voordat het wordt opgerold om te worden opgeslagen. Op machinaal vervaardigd papier worden soms waterlijnen, kettinglijnen en watermerken weergegeven om handgemaakt papier na te bootsen.
