Additional Notes:
Dutch ..... Heiligdommen opgericht aan de kant van de weg als plaats gewijd aan het eren, of verering van, een godheid of heilige figuur van elk geloof. Het kan bestaan uit een altaar of een beeld van de godheid; het kan een kruispunt markeren. Voorbeelden hiervan zijn die gevonden in het oude Egypte, Griekenland, Rome, India, Japan, en in het christelijke Europa en Amerika. Voor kruisen die dienen als berm markeringen gebruik "wegkruisen".
